pictures that make me smile

that I never managed to get posted...
in no particular order...
the boys with Grandpa

yum!

peeked out the window one day to see
Jeremiah
picking flowers for Momma

LilyPie at the park
man, she's grown in 2 months!

Jeremiah & Josiah bought this train
with their Easter $1 from Granny
at the thrift store.
it even had batteries in it!

another view from my window
It made me smile to think that in a few years
they'll be hanging out their own diapers
(made by gramma - with love)
with their own little ones helping.

  3. That's cool, because then when they can't see you come out to take the picture and hide or stop what they were doing that was so cute. lol My little sisters always get silent when the video camera comes out. But the other day some friends were over and I was on the back porch with them and my mom caught us with the video camera... until we spotted her. :P

  4. What kind of diapers do you use/make? We have just been using prefolds and wool, but I'm thinking about using something that he can take on and off when he starts pottylearning.

  6. Hey Brannan ~ I make them sort of like fuzzi bunz pocket dypes, only a bit more custom fitted & I added an extra snap to combat the 'wing-droop' that happened when we tried FB.
Lots of people make theirs with velcro, but I am just not a velcro fan, so Tyler bought me a professional snap press. I love it!

For inserts I use either Thirsties microfiber or the inserts from Nurtured Family. BUT - I just found a pack of 25 big microfiber towels at Sams Club for only $15 so if I ever need more inserts I'll make them from the towels.

as far as pottying - I don't know that he'd be able to get these back on....
when my guys were training (now they just wear diapers for naps & night time) I took some ready made training pants & added snaps into the sides - that way - they could pull 'em up & down, but if they had a messy accident, you could use the snaps.

let me know if I can be of help if you decide to make something.

  7. where did you get the training pants? I noticed that he can get his bummis (snaps) off and always does when he's wet, but he hasn't figured out how to do the up and down thing yet. I'm hoping he'll learn in the next, oh, 18-20 weeks ;)

Either I'm going to need to buy more infant prefolds (Nate still uses them as doublers) or I'll need to get/make him some diff't dipes. I think something training-wise might be the best plan.
