Where did you get your beans? Ours were getting old so we stopped adding the vodka. Time to make some more since they need to rest a month... I'll need some before then. Good thing a friend, who had received 3(!) bottles from the US, gave me one for my birthday.
From your brother - while some people may call it an 'extract' it really is a 'tincture'. An extract is extracted with other solvents and is much more concentrated. Any food item soaked in alcohol is a tincture. By the way, vanilla is highly used in perfumery. And the next time see if you can find everclear - the higher alcohol content will absorb more of the flavor. We've got a connection that provides us with 96.5% - but we'd better not ship that!
I just learned something new! That brother of ours is like a WHOLE set of encyclopedias! lol...I am not sure why the good Lord gave nathan ALL the brains, since Tracy and I seem to have only a few (reminds me of the wizard of Oz "if only I had a brain. lol)not really Tracy, I think you are a very smart cookie......anyway, I better not make any of that, we might want to drink it instead!
